Business Plan

Our Business Plan model demonstrates a fundamental guide for the development of your company or for the feasibility analysis of your project. The Business Plan can be used for structuring and analyzing the company's operations, redirecting its strategic and operational direction, for raising funds in banks or for presentation to investors.

We work closely with you to understand your goals and vision, research your markets and competitors, and develop your business plan. While most clients help us write a business plan, they often feel that the process they went through to develop a plan is ultimately more valuable than the documents themselves.

Our business plan development process

Our business planning process is intense, thorough and highly collaborative. We work primarily with small and medium organizations, ranging from just one or two employees to hundreds.

During our business planning process, we'll help you and your team refine your business model, identify your most profitable customers, refine your marketing plan, and improve your sales forecasts. We provide an objective view, so your final business plan makes a statement that exudes confidence and attracts investors.

  • We work closely with you to understand your goals and vision and then develop your entire business plan, from "elevator step" to "exit strategy".

Business Plan
  • We don't start with a "canned" business plan format - each plan is individually tailored to meet each client's unique requirements.

  • Unlike many of our competitors, we expect - even demand - multiple iterations. We understand that the first version is rarely perfect. If you're not happy with our work, neither are we.

  • We don't just "write a business plan" . We challenge assumptions, conduct independent market and competitive research, determine commercial viability, and explore and propose alternative ways to market your product or service. We are consultants, not just writers.

  • If you need to raise capital, we will evaluate your business plan from the perspective of a potential investor or partner. Our experience allows us to detect problems quickly and fix them long before you meet your first investor.

  • We have a team of experienced business consultants who understand and care about your company.

A professional business plan ties all of the above into a self-consistent document that serves as a road map for your business.

Rest assured that no matter how simple or complex your business, we will invest the time and effort necessary to make your plan an important stepping stone to your future success.

What's Included in Our Business Planning Service

Our writing style is clear, straight and simple. A complete strategic business plan includes the following components:

  • Industry overview - an overview of the industry;

  • Market Opportunity - A discussion of how big the business opportunity is in terms of revenue, number of customers, segments, growth trends, etc.

  • Customers - who are they, where are they, how many are there, etc.?

  • Competition - Understand your competitive segment in as much detail as possible. If there are no direct competitors now, then who are your indirect competitors?

  • Products and Services - What products and services will the business provide to customers?

  • Management and employees - probably the most important factor in any effective business plan. Describe the management team in terms of experience, talents, connections, etc. What additional resources will you need to make the business successful?

Business Plan

Types of business plans

As professional business plan consultants, we view a wide variety of business plan formats. The three most common types of business plans are bank financing, internal planning, or investor financing. They are listed here approximately in order of decreasing detail and complexity.

Investor Financing

Many companies are simply not good candidates for bank financing. Generally, most start-up and growth-stage companies in the new technology, innovative business services, product or concept sectors will not be able to obtain bank financing. Most technology companies (Internet, Information Technology, biotechnology, clean technology) and green or sustainable companies also fall into this category.

These types of businesses often seek to obtain equity financing, usually from angel investors or venture capital firms. Most angel investors are successful entrepreneurs or corporate executives looking for business to invest their capital. If they've analyzed a bad business plan (poorly presented, inconsistent, or poorly conceived), they won't be interested. Angel Investors and venture capitalists expect and demand the highest quality. For this a business plan needs:

  • Be a proven or innovative business model;

  • Detailed and accurate market research;

  • Scenario analysis;

  • Well-documented financial projections, as well as extensive supplementary materials (graphics, graphics, sample materials, letters of intent, sample contracts, patent or trademark documentation, etc.)

Internal Planning

This type of plan applies to any business, regardless of the stage of growth. In this case the objective is to guide internal planning, the formatting of the plan and the final presentation (book) are less important than they would be for a plan designed to raise capital resources from investors or through bank financing. In some cases, financial projections, supplementary materials and other documents (such as a PowerPoint presentation) are not needed or are only needed in a simpler form. However, the most important variable for this type of business plan is the underlying complexity and novelty of the business. A complicated or unusual business will often require a more in-depth business plan.

For established companies with annual revenues in excess of a few million reais, there are special considerations. Various stakeholders such as a larger management team, a Board of Directors, Advisory Board, outside investors, department heads, branch managers and directors, supply chain vendors and others need to be involved with the business planning process . Larger companies also typically have multiple revenue streams from different products and services, serve multiple markets across geographic boundaries, and have more complex requirements for technology applications and services. All of these factors must be carefully considered during the business planning process.

bank financing
Banks like stable companies with consistent growth, with proven business models and lots of collateral (equipment, land, buildings, bonds). This allows them to focus on historical performance, fixed assets and cash flow rather than market projections and future potential. This type of business plan usually requires a modest level of detail in financial projections, market opportunity analysis, and competitor analysis. Many established companies fall into this category. Generally, any business looking for a loan for investments, or for working capital falls into this category. Note that while some banks lend money to growing companies, they generally prefer established companies with a history of performance and a market where information is abundant.7
